I’m 100% now and will reschedule the CPR/First Aid
course for sometime in March. I want to thank Daniel
and Mr. Williams and all the sk8rs for stepping up and
running the contest in my absence. Big Special thanks

10,000 Summer Jobs for Youth
Submitted by admin on Wed, 05/23/2007 - 11:14pm.
LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Los Angeles will offer more than 10,000 jobs to
teens and young adults this summer, up from 7,500 jobs that were offered last
summer, city officials said today.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said studies show that one out of five youths
aged 18-24 in Los Angeles are unemployed and not attending school.
``Remember, I was working every summer on my own, shining shoes and
selling newspapers, but I first started working for the public sector … for
Caltrans,’‘ Villaraigosa said. ``I worked on the freeways, landscaping on the
freeways with my orange jacket on.’‘

Holiday Toy Drive
Submitted by Linda Lucks on Sat, 12/16/2006 - 4:15pm.Dear board: If you remember, Senior Lead Officer Robin Richards attended our last meeting and among other things announced a drive to collect gifts for kids for the holidays. He needs them next week. Can everyone bring at least one gift for a child on Tuesday night? Or, can you take one (or more) to Venice Community Housing Corporation on Rose, just W. of Lincoln, OR to Pacific Division LAPD OR to Beach Patrol office at the end of Windward?
It would be very cool if we could collect on Tuesday night AND send an eblast to our list and list on our home page.
Ho-ho-ho and holiday cheers. LL
