Developer to Present Plans for 31 Story Tower to Venice Neighborhood Council

Planned tower would become the tallest building in the California Coastal Zone between Long Beach and San Francisco Peninsula

MDR Tower, LLC will present the draft Environmental Impact Report for a 31 story, 366 foot tall mixed-use tower to the Venice Neighborhood Council on Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008. Widespread community interest is expected as this proposed development would rise twelve stories above neighboring structures. If approved and constructed, the mixed use retail and condominium building would become the tallest building in the California coastal zone between Long Beach and the San Francisco Peninsula. It is planned to include 158 residential units and 3,178 square feet of retail space.

The draft Environmental Impact Report for the structure proposed for the south end of the Oxford Triangle (4363 Lincoln Boulevard) will be presented to the Venice Neighborhood Council’s (VNC) Land Use & Planning Committee on Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008. The presentation will be made at the Westminster Elementary School Auditorium, 1010 Abbot Kinney Blvd (parking and auditorium entrance on Westminister, 1/2 block west, Venice, 90291) starting at 6:30 PM.

The draft EIR can be viewed on the Internet at: http://cityplanning.lacity.org/eir/MDRTowerProj/Deir/PlattMarinaDEIR.html . Community members will have an opportunity to comment on the draft as part of the meeting.

Snacks and coffee will be provided.

There is no charge for this meeting. It is open to all Venice stakeholders and public comments are encouraged.
