Fiber to the home from Verizon

From Francisco Uribe of Verizon Government Relations:

I appreciate your consideration of Verizon's FTTP/FiOS state-of-the-art technology that we hope to bring to residents of Venice later this year.

Thanks for agreeing to take a look at the attached information regarding Verizon's fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) that will deliver Verizon's all-digital FiOS services to Verizon customers. Verizon hopes to make Venice the first community within the City of L.A. that would get this technology.

However, in order for Verizon to deploy this technology, we need to obtain certain permits from the City of L.A. in accordance with the Above Ground Facilities ordinance. Part of this approval process is a review from the Cultural Affairs Commission. Verizon is hoping that the Cultural Affairs Commission will approve this project at their next meeting of July 19th. I think it would be very helpful for the Commission and the community to know that the Venice Neighborhood Council is aware and supportive of this technology upgrade.

I've attached a fact sheet that gives an overview of the FTTP network and some links that provide additional information for you to consider placing on your website. I look forward to attending your July 17th Council meeting and earning your support for this project.
