Greetings!

The mission of the Venice Neighborhood
Council is to improve the quality of life in
Venice by building community and securing
support from the City of Los Angeles for the
resources needed to achieve our goals.

Please get involved in our community by
joining your neighbors at a VNC meeting. All
are welcome.

The next VNC Board of Officers meeting will
take place on March 20th at 7pm at
Westminster Elementary School, 1010 Abbot
Kinney Blvd. Please come to meet your
neighbors, express your opinion on the issues
before the board and learn more about what's
going on in Venice.


Tuesday's agenda includes the following items:

  • Action on LUPC report for 245 Market St.
  • Approval of Draft 2007 Election Rules
  • Appointment of Neighborhood Committee
    Members
  • Ratification of DWP/NC MOU




The Los Angeles City Planning Department
invites you to attend a Workshop regarding a
proposed Community Design Overlay District
(CDO) affecting all properties along Lincoln
Boulvard between the Santa Monica-Los Angeles
city boundary and the Marina Expressway.
This is an opportunity for you to meet City
staff to discuss the process of the CDO,
review materials including draft
plan text, and provide your input on how the
appearance of Lincoln Boulevard can be improved.


The CDO Workshop will take place Thursday,
March 22 from 6PM to 8PM
at the Boys and
Girls Club of Venice.



The Exposition Metro Line Construction
Authority, in cooperation with the Los
Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation
Authority, is studying an extension of the
Exposition Light Rail Transit Project Phase 1
(under construction) from the current planned
terminus at the Venice/Robertson Station in
the City of Culver City to a station near 5th
Street/Colorado Boulevard in Santa Monica.
Interested individuals, organizations and
public agencies are invited to attend any or
all of the following community scoping
meetings to learn about and comment on the
overall project and proposed alternatives.
