Citywide Alliance of Neighborhood Councils Meeting
Location(s)
The Citywide Alliance of Neighborhood Councils will be holding the next Neighborhood Council Forum in the Faculty Center at Los Angeles City College (on Vermont Ave., 1 Block north of Melrose in East Hollywood) on Saturday, January 20th from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.
City Controller Laura Chick will be on hand as our Keynote Speaker to discuss the recent audit of the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment and the implications of her findings for NC's. We will also have Prof. Terry Cooper from the USC Public Participation Project to review the latest findings in their study of the effectiveness of NCs in Los Angeles.
In addition, we have tentatively scheduled Chief Bill Bratton of the Los Angeles Police Department to talk about the role NC's can play in helping the LAPD reduce crime in the city.
We look forward to a lively morning and we hope that every NC can be represented for these discussions.
As usual, we'll open our session with our usual open microphone followed by dialogue with Lisa Sarno, Interim General Manager of DONE.
Please pass this invitation along to other Board members and stakeholders in your NC area. Everyone is welcome to attend. For directions, parking instructions and more information please see our website at www.allncs.org.
PLEASE NOTE that the parking location has changed. We will be using an off-campus lot across Vermont from the meeting location at Marathon Street. Turn east on Marathon from Vermont to enter the lot. See the map at our website for more information.
See you there,
Noah Modisett and the Steering Committee of the Citywide Alliance of Neighborhood Councils
