Do you or a friend want to volunteer on a Venice Council Committee?

Hey Everyone:

As most of you know, I recently began my term on the Venice Council. I'm writing because I want to encourage those of you who work, live, or own property in Venice ("Venice Stakeholders") to apply to work on the Venice Council's new "Neighborhood Committee" and existing "Land Use and Planning Committee." For those of you who are not Stakeholders, I included you because of your ties to the Venice community, and its Stakeholders. So, please pass the word.

The Neighborhood Committee is brand new this year. It has been established to promote greater awareness of LA City resources in the nine Venice neighborhoods, and to more effectively bring neighborhood specific issues to the Venice Council's attention. This Committee will be a fantastic tool for making the Venice Council more responsive to specific neighborhood needs, but we need good people to apply for the nine available positions (1 from each "neighborhood").

Applications are also being taken for the Land Use and Planning Committee which makes recommendations to the Council re: whether or not to recommend approval of proposed new developements. If any of you have expertise in development issues (law, real estate, architecture, construction, housing rights, zoning, etc.), I encourage you to apply.

Applications are now available for both Committees at the Venice Library and also online at: grvnc.org/Apply, The applications must be returned no later then 9 pm on November 16th, 2006, and can be returned either by email to secretary@grvnc.org , by fax to 310-606-2015, or by regular mail to: Venice Neighborhood Council, PO Box 550, Venice, CA 90294.

Optionally, applicants may also email a copy of their application to board@grvnc.org if they wish to make public their answers before November 16th and give the board more time to review their application.

I have attached the application information to this email as well for reference. (www.grvnc.org/Apply)

Thanks so much, and I hope we can work together.
