Watch the Road – New Cell Phone Law Campaign

In June, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation and the Watch the Road program has begun to launch a public awareness campaign alerting Angelinos to Californiaâ s two new cellular phone use laws. The laws, which take effect July 1, 2008, will force drivers to use hands-free mobile devices and prohibit driverâ s under 18 from using cell phones at all. The Department is partnering with the Los Angeles Police Department to raise public awareness about the new laws. To promote the campaign messages, the Department will partner with several agencies including CBS Outdoor, LADOT and Big Blue Bus. Watch the Road will also begin showing .30 sec public service announcements on 10 radio stations, two major network television stations and on other media venues.
