“For everyone who has petitions or is interested in distributing petitions – we will be presenting the petitions at the August 15 VNC board meeting. This is not your last chance. We do plan to continue if there is interest. At this time we don’t know when the next batch will be presented.

There are 2 meetings planned for “street captain training”. They are Saturday, July 15 at 10 am and Wednesday, July 19 at 7 pm. Location: Extra Space Storage at 658 Venice Bl. If you already have petitions, but have questions or you would like to turn in your petitions, you can do so at the training sessions. “

The OFW Committee (Venice Beach Free Expression Working Group) was established to monitor the effectiveness of LAMC 42.15,a new City ordinance enacted on 3.25.06 to regulate activities on the boardwalk in a constitutionally acceptable manner. Testimony and opinions have been solicited from various interest groups (performers, artists, merchants, residents, tourists, free expressionists, free speech advocates, spiritualists and others) and recommendations for possible modifications will be considered and discussed at this meeting.
