The Following Items were approved for the Agenda of the Monday, November 8th

2004 Board of Directors


1. Moved by O’Meara / GRVNC shall allocate up to three thousand dollars for notification and expenses in support of a Town Hall meeting on Monday, December 13 at the Venice Methodist Church. Speaking: Catherine Austin Fitts on Neighborhood Economics: “ Commerce which Energizes Local Cluture”

2. Moved by Thompson / GRVNC approves $500,000 dollar expenditure from the Venice Property Surplus Fund for improvements at the Venice Circle as recommended by the Windward Circle District Association and the local City Council Office.

3.  Moved by McCrary / GRVNC establishes a Policy to encourage any GRVNC Board Member to inform the Board President of any meetings for any purpose related to Venice and GRVNC Stakeholders.

 
4. Moved by McCrary / GRVNC shall provide $600 for 100 meals cooked by Café 50s to be delivered by Board Members to the needy in a Thanksgiving Assistance Program.


5. Moved by O’Meara / GRVNC concurs with the local City Council Office to expend $175,000 from the Venice Surplus Property Fund in support of a Community Design Overlay.

6. Moved by Thompson / GRVNC approves $1000 in support of a bi lingual holiday presentation at SPARC on December 18th .

7. Moved by Thompson / GRVNC supports Neighborhood Councils access to Public Television air time.

8. Moved by Davis / GRVNC objects to the erection of cell phone transmitter in Venice.

9.  Moved by O’Meara / GRVNC approves expenditure of $32,000 from the Venice Surplus Property Fund for repairs to the roof and plumbing at the SPARC building.

10. Moved by Davis / GRVNC will hold a Public Workshop in November to consider public input on proposed improvements to Oakwood Park and will extend invitations to the local Councilperson, Representatives from the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Oakwood Advisory Board, and the California Coastal Commission. GRVNC will expend up to $1000 to support the workshop and notification to the neighborhood affected by the proposed improvements. The results of the workshop will be transmitted to the Board, Local Council Office, Department of Parks and Recreation, the Los Angeles Planning Department, and the California Coastal Commission.

(A)  Notification Policy
MOTION: GRVNC establishes a Policy to encourage any GRVNC Board Member to inform the Board President of any meetings for any purpose related to Venice and GRVNC Stakeholders.

(B)  Thanksgiving Assistance Program
MOTION: GRVNC shall provide $600 for 100 meals cooked by Café 50s to be delivered by Board Members to the needy in a Thanksgiving Assistance Program.

(C) SPARC Holiday Presentation

MOTION: GRVNC approves $1000 in support of a bi lingual holiday presentation at SPARC on December 18th

(D) Cell Phone Transmittors

MOTION: GRVNC objects to the erection of cell phone transmitter in Venice.


(E) Oakwood Park Workshop
MOTION:
GRVNC shall hold a Public Workshop in November to consider public input on proposed improvements to Oakwood Park and will extend invitations to the local Councilperson, Representatives from the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Oakwood Advisory Board, and the California Coastal Commission. GRVNC will expend up to $1000 to support the workshop and notification to the neighborhood affected by the proposed improvements. The results of the workshop will be transmitted to the Board, Local Council Office, Department of Parks and Recreation, the Los Angeles Planning Department, and the California Coastal Commission.

(F) Public Access TV for Neighborhood Councils
MOTION: GRVNC supports Neighborhood Councils access to Public Television air time.

(A) Repair of SPARC Building
MOTION: GRVNC approves expenditure of $32,000 from the Venice Surplus Property Fund for repairs to the roof and plumbing at the SPARC building.

(B) Windward Circle Improvements
MOTION:
GRVNC approves $500,000 expenditure from the Venice Property Surplus Fund for improvements at the Venice Circle as recommended by the Windward Circle District Association and the local City Council Office.
