Elections Committee Minutes

Call to Order: Tom O'Meara, chair

The chair of the elections committee, asked for public comment on the ideas presented in the meeting agenda. Namely, should he consider attempting to recruit stakeholders at random for empaneling the elections committee?

Only one comment was received, and that was positive.

So, the chair decided to invite stakeholders with last names ending in two different letters. Twice, Paul Ryan, GRVNC Government Relations officer, chose two numbers between one and one million. The numbers were multiplied together and the result divided by 26. The remainder from dividing by 26 became the letter of the alphabet that was chosen.

The committee candidates will come to a meeting on Saturday, March 13 to find out more about what is expected of them and those that chose to volunteer will be accepted. If there are many more who choose to volunteer, they will be screened by availability.
